After several unfortunate experiences with aggressive dogs, and a move from Ohio to Colorado, my "gentle soul" of an Irish Setter morphed into a leash-aggressive dog. The trainers from Gentle Canine have just done wonders with my lab. They have been working with him since he was about 4 months old. His behavior in general is so much better. “I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Gentle Canine. Amber came to my house when Buckley was just about 12 weeks old, and saved me. It had been many years since I had had a puppy, and I was a little frazzled. They presented me with so many tools to use to entertain, and "train" Buckley at the same time. Buckley is almost 8 months old now, and doing great. He follows commands and is very well socialized. I continue to use Gentle Canine for "field trips",( Buckley loves them). I also schedule training appointments when new questions or situations arise.”

My dog, Lady and I started working with Gentle Canine because she started becoming aggressive to other dogs. After a couple (2) sessions I started seeing a change. They not only redirected Lady's behavior but mine in a very kind manner. Lady and I are now able to go to the pet store, walks on the trails and even have play time with other dogs and I don¹t stress out when she doesn't care for a dog, we just walk away. It might be good time to note that Lady is a very athletic 80 lb dog, yes we just walk away! Beside changing an unwanted behavior Lady now has a slew of "tricks" to show off when people come over, I once again have fun with my dog instead of always wondering about her reaction! “Our 80lb lab was a total “puller” on walks and was so unpleasant to take for walks until we met with Gentle Canine. One session with them and our dog was a different dog on a leash! With a few tricks and some practice we now have a dog that walks calmly by our sides with a loose leash! “When we bought home our 8 week old golden retriever puppy we knew we wanted to have him well trained - after all he was to become one of the family and as such we want him to go everywhere with us. We feel very fortunate to have found Gentle Canine. Not only do they train the puppy but they train the "puppy parents" too. The training is always positive with lots of exercise and yummy treats. They will come to your home, meet you downtown, in the park, wherever, to meet the needs of you, your family and your puppy. At 7 months old we are still in training but well on the way to having the dog we want. Hopefully a Good Canine Citizen one day. We always enjoy the training sessions and all the trainers are very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They have great insight into the dogs and their language and will even take them on a "field trip" - they will take them for the day and so the dogs get to interact in different situations with different dogs - and then they get to make new friends too.”
