Morgan Braddy has been working with Gentle Canine since April 2015, she is a nationally certified trainer, earning her CPDT certification in the fall of 2016. Morgan’s interest in animal training started as a young girl after she successfully trained the family cat to beg with the dogs at the dinner table every night in her hometown of Gainesville, Georgia.
After her move to Durango in 2012, she adopted her first dog, a reactive Aussie named Blue, that changed her life and career path forever. As GentleCanines puppy guru, Morgans puppy class curriculum is developed around what veterinary behaviorists recommend to help raise stable, happy, well socialized and smart puppies. You will also meet Morgan if you take our Tricks, Trek & Train, and SUP with your pup classes.
Morgan most enjoys seeing the relief and joy on clients faces after their pet has succeeded in a challenging situation. She is now expanding her skill set to working with reactivity and behavior modification, to help other dog parents navigate the often emotional road to having a healthy, happy pet.
Morgan loves to practice her training skills by teaching her best friend, 1 ½ year old lab/hound/pit bull mix Gus, whatever goofy, fun tricks they can think up together (Gus, do yoga!). This past time is fun both personally and professionally, just ask any field trip client whose dog comes home at the end of the day with a new trick in his training arsenal. She and Gus can be found on the weekends hiking in the La Plata mountains or exploring downtown Durango side by side, Starbucks coffee and Zukes treats in hand.
