Now that we have that out of the way. Here are some pictures that probably tell you a little bit more about me than credentials.
That big white dog is Larry. Larry was a rescue from my shelter days. Shelter work is hard, you want to make sure all the dogs have a safe life. Larry was one of those dogs whose heart I just couldn't trust with anyone else. He's a great teacher for my students. If you make one wrong move he'll flatten himself to the floor and might not respond for the rest of the lesson. Although, he will put up with a certain amount of humanness when he wants to.
We used to live in Alaska. This is one of the cabins we lived in. Yep. It was really that rustic, no running water...which means...you guessed it...an outhouse.
Of course it was all worth it, so we could drive a team of huskies.
When we moved away from snow--we discovered surfing! Stand Up Paddleboarding to be exact. Now instead of worrying about bears, we worry about big fish :-)
And then we got involved in some contests and helped clean up the shore line.
This is Joey. He is a little ball obsessed.
Here we have completed the Run For The Warriors 10K. We were Ellen's Team. Ellen (in the chair) has ALS, and Jennifer her sister (to the right behind the chair) pushed her. We ran for MyTeamTriumph. They sponsor chairs for disabled athletes.
This is my husband Jon at work.
Do you need a certified dog trainer?
My certification protects you. It's important credentialing because it tells you that I have studied dog training and have passed the independent national exam (yes, there is a national credentialing exam open to all qualified dog trainers). It requires me to stay current on training with continuing education. I also adhere to a code of ethics that supports using the least intrusive method of training first. Better known as First, Do No Harm.I am in the Jacksonville, NC area. If you're in Jacksonville or surrounding areas including Camp Lejeune, Hampstead, Surf City, and Sneads Ferry and are in need of dog training, let's talk! You can call me directly at 609-870-3601 or fill out the form at the bottom of this page. I look forward to talking with you!
