I was the first Animal Behavior student in the area looking to find a mentor trainer. The College and I had a fairly hard time finding a qualified trainer who was interested. Other trainers either didn't respond (competition?), were too busy or uninterested.

I believe I had the longest travel time to meet with Kirsten, but after meeting her and going through the program, it was well worth it! She made the training sessions both interesting and fun, for the dogs and trainers.

Having hands-on experience as well as the book -study program really brought everything together and easier to grasp. Kirsten was always open to suggestions and covered what we as students were interested in learning. She answered all questions and was very professional. I was actually glad that I had a hard time finding someone for a mentor because it worked out for the best in the end!
